Achillea Red Velvet

Description

A hardy herbaceous perennial shrub with interesting mat-forming foliage and brightly coloured Summer blooms. The Achillea Red Velvet, also known as Yarrow, is a somewhat compact cultivar with finely divided green leaves resembling feathers which emit a pleasant, mild scent. Above the foliage stand branching stems which hold flat clusters of small, bright red flowers throughout the Summer months.

Plant in moderately moist, well-drained soils and keep in full sun in an open, exposed position in the garden. Tolerant of most conditions and drought tolerant once established. Not suited to heavy, overly wet soils which can cause the plant to droop.
