Description
The Homalomena genus, a member of the Araceae family, is found in parts of southern Asia. Homalomena rubescens ‘Emerald Gem’ forms a dense clump of glossy green, heart-shaped leaves which rest atop slim green stems. Similar in appearance to that of many Philodendron species, but much lower maintenance in comparison.
WATERING
In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. A high humidity lover, so mist often.
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Bright, indirect.
FEED
Use a houseplant fertiliser every two months from April – October.
REPOTTING
Repot every 2-3 years when pot is full. Use a well draining house plant compost with added draining medium like perlite.
