Description
Lonicera (honeysuckle) – Not to be confused with their climbing relatives, these evergreen shrubs are highly versatile and make ideal shrubs for mixed borders, as hedging plants or even grown in large pots when they can be trimmed to elaborate topiary shapes as the twiggy growth is quite pliable and can be easily trained when young. They thrive on most soils in sun or shade and will benefit from regular trimming to retain their Baggesen’s Gold is an evergreen, fast growing shrub with dense, tiny yellow ovate leaves in summer, yellow green throughout the winter. It produces tiny cream flowers in spring and these are followed by purple berries in late summer/aurumn. It is tolerant of sun or shade but its colour tends to be better in sun. This variety makes a fast growing, colourful hedge. Height and spread 1.5m.
