Description
Sow undercover from April-June at 16c.
Place 2-3 seeds per 8cm pot, 50 mm deep.
When seedlings are large enough, transplant into 7.5cm pots.
After germination, grow on in slightly cooler conditions to encourage strong, sturdy plants.
Once all frost has passed, harden off and plant outdoors in the final position.
Alternatively, sow directly outside from May onwards, spacing seeds 20cm apart.
Provide support and plant three beans per cane.
Water regularly while plants establish.
Feed every 14 days with a liquid fertiliser.
Pinch out the growing tips when they reach the top of the support.
Harvest frequently to promote continuous cropping.
If growing for Exhibition, thin to one pod per flower stem to increase the pod length.
