A non-native, deciduous broadleaved tree known for its nuts.

Growth and size
Mature height: 10-15m.
Growth rate: 10-50cm per year.
Supplied as 15-30cm cell-grown saplings.
Can be planted all year round with proper care.
Walnut spalings are smaller than usual (5cm+), but are perfectly formed with strong roots.

Walnut trees are not native to Britain and were originally introduced by the Romans, who grew the species for its nuts. Although its nuts are still enjoyed as food, walnut is now often grown for its timber, which is fine with a decorative, wavy grain.
