Blueberry Pink Lemonade (9cm)

Description

Vaccinium ‘Pink Lemonade’ is an upright, bushy deciduous shrub that produces large crops of blueberries in late summer. The foliage of this plant boasts glossy, oval-shaped, dark green leaves which turns to shades of orange and then burgundy as the seasons change. Pinkish/white bell-shaped flowers develop and eventually give way to the berries that can be harvested from late-summer onwards. The fairly unique characteristic that sets this variety apart from others in the vaccinium family is that the berries are a deep pink colour when they are fully ripened, hence it’s name. These fruits have a lovely mild flavour and can be eaten staight from the tree, they can also be used to make jams and desserts. These plants prefer a sunny or partially shaded spot in the garden, for best results make sure the soil is well drained and slightly acidic. These bushes are self-pollinating but planting in groups will provide a higher yield of fruit.
