Dryopteris Austriaca

Description

Dryopteris austriaca, otherwise known as Dryopteris dilatata or Broad Buckler fern, is a rosette forming, robust, semi-evergreen, hardy fern. This plant produces triangular shaped fronds, that resemble the shape of christmas trees. The pinnae are dark green in colour and have speckled brown midribs. This plant is the perfect addition to a shaded border, bed or woodland area.

Plant in a moist, well drained, humus rich soil. Thrives best in partial to full shade but will grow in full sun, if watered regularly.
