Description

This eyecatching deciduous Magnolia hybrid is a cross between Liliiflora Nigra and Magnolia Stellata, bred to flower in April through May to avoid the early spring frosts that can damage its delicate new growths. A prize winner, this variety has been recognised by the RHS for its many qualities: resilience, attractive appearance, reliability and excellent performance, earning it the Award of Garden Merit.

‘Ricki’ showcases a gorgeous display of purple-pink buds, opening up to distinctive rose pink cup-shaped blooms that will be a fantastic focal point of a garden, or part of a standalone feature its flowers begin to fade, the ovate foliage will remain for a splash of green, before turning shades of yellow in autumn and shedding as winter approaches.
