Description
A variety of Black Poplar which is fast growing, narrow, upright and deciduous and is often planted to form a windbreak. Glossy dark green leaves in dense masses are bronze when young and turn an attractive yellow in autumn. A male tree bearing red catkins in mid-spring. Avoid growing poplars within 130ft (40m) of buildings. Any ordinary soil, also tolerant of cold heavy soils.
