Berberis Julianae

Description

Dense, upright, fast growing, evergreen plant with long, glossy, heavily spined leaves, dark green above, pale green beneath. Masses of clusters of yellow, or sometimes red-tinged flowers wreath the shoots in spring followed by edible, bloomy, blue-black egg-shaped fruits in autumn which are attractive to wildlife. The flowers are nectar and pollen rich so are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects. Quickly forms an impenetrable hedge. Shade tolerant.
