Description
Leontopodium ‘Blossom of Snow’is a deciduous perennial shrub with grey-green foliage and large flower heads. In late spring, this variety begins to develop a fuzzy silver-like “wool” effect coupled with flower-like silver bracts in the shape of a star, these flowers bloom in abundance from summer to fall. A very tough and hardy perennial, this plant prefers a fully sunny position in the garden and it can be planted in any soil, as long as it is well drained.
Known better as “Edelweiss”, this perennial will die back in winter before returning to bloom year after year. Owing to it’s native rocky alpine habitat, this plant prefers growing in cooler climates.
