Chinese Kale- Kailaan Kichi
Also known as Chinese Broccoli. A high-quality uniform variety with large blue green waxy leaves. With excellent stem and bud eating quality. Later maturing type with good holding ability. Some tolerance to Downy Mildew. 60-70 days to maturity. Normally harvested when just coming into flower. 400 seeds per gram.

Sow Apr Sep, sparingly 1cm deep direct in finely raked, moist, weed free rich soil, with added organic matter.
Germination 5 15 days at 13 to 24°C
Best sown frequently in small amounts every 2-3 weeks.
Thin once the seedlings at 10cm (4in) tall to 10 to 15cm (4 to 6in) apart for harvesting as young plants, for mature plants grow 30cm (12in) apart.
Can be sown for a later crop under glass as it will tolerate some cold.
Must be kept moist in warm weather as any stresses and this variety will bolt very quickly.
