Description
A standout perennial for any garden! Sea Holly, also known as Eryngium planum, is a hardy perennial with metallic-blue flowers that resemble spiky thistles.
The flowers are bold and fascinating to look at, particularly as they bloom in borders from mid-summer into early autumn. Its jagged silvery foliage emerges in spring, setting the stage for the dazzling globes of colour that appear in June and hold strong until September.
Sea Holly is drought tolerant, fully hardy and remarkably easy to grow. Plus, pollinator appeal is another big tick. Bees and butterflies flock to the nectar-rich flowers, bringing life and movement to your summer garden. And the seedheads provide structure well into winter. They can even be cut and used in dried flower arrangements, holding their metallic shimmer beautifully indoors.
Reaching up to 90cm tall, this perennial is superb for adding height and texture among softer planting.
Supplied as a set of 10 bare roots, ready to plant.
