Description
The very aromatic and fragrant Queen Annes Pocket Melon (Cucumis melo L.), which is the size of an apple, was traditionally carried in the pockets of Victorian women prior to the invention of deodorants. The aroma is intense, smelling mostly of pineapple and juicy cantaloupe with a little trace of jasmine. Its beginnings date back more than three centuries. The fruits are eye-catching, with their rich gold and carmine stripes and smooth orange rinds. They are heavy crops that grow quickly when trellised, weighing up to 1 pound each. The aroma is wonderful, however the fruits are not the tastiest
