Begonia maculata ‘Double Dot’

Description

Begonia maculata is native to the rainforests of Brazil, meaning these ever so elegant plants require plenty of warmth and humidity. The recognisable angel wing shaped leaves, crinkly at the edges, are covered in large silver polka dots glowing against a deep green, glossy surface, in contrast with the warm burgundy red undersides. What sets apart the ‘Double Dot’ variety is its compact growth and delicate dot pattern, which is much more abundant than standard Begonia maculata.

WATERING

In S/S water when 20% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. Mist often.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Bright, indirect.

FEED

Use a house plant fertiliser every month between April – September.

REPOTTING

Repot every 2-3 years.
