Description
Sow indoors from MarchApril on the surface of moist, well-drained seed compost.
Dont cover, as seeds need light to germinate.
Maintain a temperature of 18-21c. Germination typically takes 10-20 days.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, prick out and transplant into individual 8cm pots.
Grow on in bright light and cooler conditions, keeping compost moist but never waterlogged.
Harden off gradually before planting outdoors once all risk of frost has passed.
Plant out in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, spacing plants 40cm apart.
Water regularly during dry periods to encourage strong, continuous flowering.
Deadhead spent blooms to prolong the flowering season.
