Description
A rare and intriguing Senecio that is caudex forming with its tuberous rootstock that creeps up out of the soil. Sitting atop its juicy base are crowns of thick, succulent, blue-grey leaves with a light purple underside. The real point of interest however is the dramatic shower of luminous red flowers that burst out of the centre of each leaf cluster mid-winter.
WATERING
In S/S water when 90% of the soil has dried out. During the winter months allow the soil to dry out 100% watering very little every 1-2 months.
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Full sun.
FEED
Use a cactus fertiliser 2-3 times a year.
REPOTTING
Repotting once every 2-3 years to replenish soil. Use a cactus compost with a good mix of perlite.
