Description
Surely a hardy annual plant that needs no introduction. Worthy of a place in any garden and a favourite for children to grow. Incidentally, an ideal plant to grow in a large clump at the foot of large trees or near the edge of a pool. They are surprisingly tolerant of partial shade. There are now also plenty of varieties that are great for cutting big and dramatic and, of particular interest to the writer no skill required for arranging! Just stick them in a (large) vase.
The traditional Sunflower usually grown in childrens competitions can grow up to 2-3m.
