Philodendron scandens – On Support

Description

Philodendron scandens is a popular plant because it is quick and easy to grow. It has dark green, glossy and distinctly heart shaped leaves. This specimen is trained on a moss pole giving any plant collection instant height, it can also be unclipped from the support and trained up a wall to give a real jungle feel.

WATERING

In S/S water when 30% of the top soil has dried out. In A/W allow top soil to dry out 50%. A good tip to remember – if your plant is getting less light then it will need less water.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Bright, indirect. medium to low light tolerant.

FEED

Use a houseplant fertiliser once a month from April – October.

REPOTTING

Repot every 2 years or alternatively replace the top 10cm of the soil with fresh house plant compost every year.
