Description
Start the seeds under cover in a cold frame February-May or September-November
Surfacesow the seeds onto moist and press in lightly.
Keep in a sheltered spot at 2oc.
Alternatively, sow outdoors directly after the danger of frost has passed.
Keep the seeded area moist until germination occurs.
Seeds usually begin to germinate in about 2-3 weeks once conditions are favourable.
Gradually harden off young plants before planting out after the risk of frost has passed.
Space plants about 30-40 cm apart to allow room for growth.
Water during dry periods until established, but avoid waterlogging.
Once established, this species is hardy and low maintenance with minimal feeding required.
Deadhead if you do not want it to selfseed, otherwise leave seed heads.
