Description
Upright stems up to 1 metre and lovely flower displays with distinctive colours. The Astrantia Buckland, also known as Masterwort, is an early flowering herbaceous perennial shrub with deeply cut leaves of mid-green and slender, wiry stems which hold umbels of tiny, pale-pink flowers which sit surrounded by pink tinged silver bracts which appear from early Summer and last throughout. A great option for woodland displays and cottage gardens.
Plant in moist, humus-rich, fertile, well-drained soils and keep in full or partial sun in a sheltered position. These flowers are sterile and should not self-seed, so plant near other Astrantia to allow propagation. Tolerates drier soils and conditions once established.
