Description
Sow the seeds directly outdoors from August-April in a well-prepared seedbed.
Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of the soil and lightly cover with a fine layer of compost or grit.
Keep the soil consistently moist until seedlings emerge.
Seeds will usually germinate within 10-21 days.
Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 20-25cm apart to allow room for growth.
Choose a sunny, well-drained site for best growth and flowering.
Water regularly during dry spells until established, but avoid waterlogging.
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming.
Plants may self-seed for the following season if some flowers are left to mature.
