Considered one of the most attractive house plants, Cyclamen persicum Red is a winter flowering variety that provides a bit of colour when it’s needed most, during the dreary months towards the end of the year. The deciduous leaves start to form around autumn, sporting a dark green colour, and they are soon joined by splashes of silver, providing a gorgeous marbled effect. The leaves are soon joined by long flowering stems that tower above the foliage, soon blooming into large colourful flowers. The flowers themselves will stick around from winter until spring, before the entire plant dies back and enters a dormancy period when summer comes around and temperatures are high, if proper care is taken this cyclamen will be ready to make a re-appearance the following autumn.

When watering, take care not to under-water or over-water, the conditions need to be specific in order to get the watering requirements spot on. For best practice, we suggest standing the plant in water for an hour, allow the roots to take in as much water as they require and then allow the excess to drain away before potting. Water again only when the soil is dry to the touch, and ensure the soil is not waterlogged, as this will cause the plant to rot.
