Description
Surface sow seeds onto moist, well-drained seed compost.
Gently press the seeds in but dont cover as light is needed for germination.
Place in a propagator at a temperature of 15-20c.
Keep the compost just moist; seeds will germinate in 14-30 days.
When seedlings are 3-5 cm tall, transplant into 8 cm pots or modular trays.
Grow on in a cool greenhouse or bright windowsill, keeping soil moist but not waterlogged.
Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions before planting outside.
Plant out in moist, well-drained soil in full sun, spacing plants 25-35cm apart, once all risk of frost has passed.
Can be sown in autumn undercover.
