Description
Kalanchoe is a really diverse genus of succulents. This particular species, known as Kalanchoe thyrsiflora, aka the Paddle Plant, is loved for its paddle-esque shaped leaves, narrow at the base then gradually curving outwards. When exposed to direct light the tips of the leaves turn a beautiful dusty maroon. A typical succulent, it loves a bright sunny spot and water only when its fully dry all the way through the pot.
WATERING
In summer water thoroughly only when 100% of the soil has dried out. A/W allow soil to dry 100% – water sparingly (every two months). In spring gradually increase watering – depending on temp and light exposure.
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Full sun.
FEED
Use a cactus fertiliser 2-3 times a year between April – September.
REPOTTING
Repotting once every 2-3 years to replenish soil. Use a cactus compost with a good mix of perlite.
