Herb – Leeks

Description

Leeks are one of the most essential and versatile winter vegetables which can be used in array of dishes. Leeks are perfect in soups, stews, sauces and potato dishes.

Although leeks are best suited to growing in open ground, they also work well in containers and raised beds. They should be watered well until fully established, and thereafter during dry spells of weather. To harvest, gently lift the leeks from the soil using a fork. During winter, they can remain in the ground until they are needed.
