Ceanothus can be evergreen or deciduous shrubs or small trees, with simple leaves and small blue, pink or white flowers in profuse axillary or terminal clusters. They are fast-growing but may be short-lived

Yankee Point’ is an evergreen shrub growing up to a metre tall, but spreading up to 4m, making a good low boundary plant, or as structure in a large border. Ceanothus ‘Yankee Point’, also known as Californian lilac – are shrubs that provide a useful backdrop of fine, glossy foliage in the garden. This is complimented by stunning almost-electric blue flowers in grown in a sheltered, sunny position, Ceanothus work well in town gardens, nestled against a sunny wall. Is lime tolerant, but prefers clay, loamy and sandy soils.
