Description
From Colombia and Venezuela comes this superb species that twines its way up to six or eight feet, and bears the most gorgeous, dense umbels, clumps almost, a carillon at least, of red and reddish-yellow, tubular bell-shaped flowers with tasteful claret-brown spots. In full bloom this plant will demand an audience. Although succeeding as a pot plant, its full potential will be developed if planted in a sunny greenhouse border. It is, however, surprisingly hardy (it might even survive outside in the milder parts of the country) and only the minimum of heat in winter (35°F (2°C)) will be required.
