The small lavender plant known as Munstead lavender (Lavandula angustifolia Munstead) is named for Gertrude Jekylls Munstead Wood garden. Above aromatic grey-green foliage are numerous spikes of fragrant blue-purple flowers. Its a popular lavender for gravel gardens, border edging, and path edging because the scents of its leaf release as you brush by it.
