Echium ‘Red Feathers’ is a hardy perennial that turns heads the moment it blooms. From a handsome rosette of dark, bristly green leaves, stiff architectural spires rise up, densely packed with slender tubular flowers in a rich, warm shade of raspberry-red. It is bold, structural, and unlike anything else in the border.

Keep the spent spikes deadheaded and ‘Red Feathers’ will flower relentlessly from summer right through to the first autumn frosts. With increasingly dry summers becoming the norm across the UK, this is also a plant perfectly suited to the times.

Originating from the mountainous regions of the Caucasus, it is genuinely drought tolerant once established, thriving in gravel gardens, Mediterranean-themed borders and any free-draining spot in the garden.
