Adenia viridiflora

Description

Adenia viridiflora grows a stout trunk, from which vines of deep green deeply lobed leaves emerge. This rare succulent belongs to the Adenia genus, which is scattered throughout east and west tropical areas in Africa and Southeast Asia, but primarily members of the genus can be found in Madagascar. The plant is deciduous, so it may lose its foliage for the winter months, and while dormant refrain from watering. Leaves will begin to grow back in spring.

WATERING

In S/S water regularly but allow for 100% of the soil to dry before watering. During the winter months while the plant goes dormant and sheds its foliage refrain from watering. Gradually increase watering in spring or when temperatures rise.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Full sun.

FEED

Use a cactus fertiliser every few months between the months of March – October

REPOTTING

Repot every 3-4 years, or once the roots outgrow the pot, and use a well-draining cactus and succulent potting mix with added drainage medium like pumice, grit, or horticultural sand.
