Description
Adiantum pedatum, known more commonly as maidenhair fern is originally a native of North America and is usually found at beneath shaded woody areas with rich, moist soil. These shade loving plants grow low to the ground, their fine frilly fronds providing great colour and groundcover and are a great choice for naturalising terrain beneath taller plants and shaded garden areas.
Grows well in moist, well-drain soils and is most suitable for partial shaded, sun-dappled areas. Spreads via branching rhizomes to cover more ground and creates groups of ferns over time.
