Description
Excellent variety with superb fruity flavour. Striking scarlet flush; pink stained flesh that gives pink juice. Heavy cropper with good disease resistance. It is named after the Red Devil parachute display team and was bred in Kent by Hugh Ermen in 1975. The blossom attracts bees, and later any fallen fruit is eagerly consumed by thrushes and other similar birds. Bullfinches are, unfortunately, partial to the buds.
