Description
Raised near Worcester and first grafted commercially in 1873. Densely sweet white flesh with an intense strawberry flavour when picked fully ripe. Apples golden-yellow streaked crimson to a complete crimson flush depending on the weather. Very attractive distinctive blossom, almond opening to silvery white. Good commercial and garden variety. Hardy, reliable and is a regular heavy cropper. The blossom attracts bees, and later any fallen fruit is eagerly consumed by thrushes and other similar birds. Bullfinches are, unfortunately, partial to the buds.
