Aspidistra elatior

Description

Tolerant of neglect and shade, Aspidistra elatior became popular during the Victorian times due to their ability to withstand fluctuating temperatures and light levels, alongside the less than favourable gloomy conditions that were produced by coal fires and gas lamps.

WATERING

Throughout the year allow soil to dry out 40%. Less light = Less water.

LIGHT REQUIREMENTS

Indirect light, shade tolerant.

FEED

Use a house plant fertiliser every month between April – September.

REPOTTING

Repot every 2-3 years.
