Bellflower

Description

Vigorous perennial with clumps of sharply-toothed, mid-green leaves. From June to September carries sprays of large lavender-blue star-like flowers with white centres. The flowers are nectar and pollen rich so are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects. Tolerant of dense shade. Dies down in winter but will shoot again in spring. Height 15cm (6ins). Plant 30 – 38cm (12 – 15ins) apart.
