Description
Chaenomeles Knap Hill Scarlet is a deciduous shrub with a spreading growth habit. The plant will bring a striking cluster of orange-red flowering in Spring, whilst yellow, apple-shaped fruit will come to the fore in Autumn. The eye-catching apperance of the plant is made by its standout features such as the glossy green foliage and thorny branch structure bringing the look together very nicely. Chaenomeles should be planted in moist, well-drained soil and placed in areas of full sun at the best of times. Make sure to water the plant regularly as it establishes itself in the garden. After that period has passed, you can water it once a week as it begins to tolerate periods of drought.
