Description
A late-season show-off that fires up the garden just when many other plants are packing up for the year. Colquhounia ‘Nepalese Flame’ is a low maintenance, wildlife friendly shrub.
From late summer to autumn, it erupts with upright spikes of vivid orange-red flowers tinged in gold. They look almost flame-like, especially when the sun catches them, and they really standout against the scented, felty foliage beneath.
The flowers are tubular and they attract late-flying bees and butterflies, helping to extend the pollinator party in your garden well beyond midsummer.
Plus, ‘Nepalese Flame’ is easy to grow, becoming hardy and drought tolerant once established. Just give it a sunny, sheltered position in well-drained soil and mulch around the base in colder areas to protect it in its first winter.
Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant.
