Description

Sow the seeds directly outdoors from March-May or August-September in a well-prepared, well-drained seedbed.

Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of the soil and lightly cover with a fine layer of compost or grit.

Keep the soil consistently moist until seedlings emerge.

Seeds will usually germinate within 10-21 days.

Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 20-30 cm apart to allow room for growth.

Choose a sunny, well-drained site for best growth and flowering.

Water moderately during dry spells until established, but avoid waterlogging.

Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming.

Plants may self-seed for the following season if some flowers are left to mature.

Toxic to chickens and can cause miscarriage in pregnant sheep.
