Description
Start the seeds indoors from February-April.
Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of moist seed compost and dont cover.
Keep at a cool temperature of 10-15c until germination occurs.
Seeds will usually germinate within 10-14 days.
Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into 8cm pots and grow on.
Grow on in bright light, keeping the compost just moist.
Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
Plant out after the risk of frost has passed into their final flowering position.
Alternatively, sow directly outdoors in late spring once the danger of frost has passed.
Space plants about 25-30cm apart.
Water regularly during dry spells until established, but avoid waterlogging.
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming throughout the season.
