Description
Cotoneaster are a large group of deciduous, semi-evergreen or evergreen shrubs and trees. They carry saucer to shallowly cup-shaped white to deep pink flowers which are borne singly or in clusters and are very attractive to wild life, especially bees. In autumn the plants will be covered with colourful berries, which make good food for wildlife. Grow in moderately fertile, well-drained soil, but most varieties will tolerate dry conditions as well when established. Deciduous species prefer full sun and all will flower and fruit better in full microphyllus is a stiffly branched, compact, mound forming, evergreen, spreading, dense shrub with small 5-petalled, white flowers in May-June born singly, followed by large globose reddish-pink fruits in the autumn. Due to its dense habit it will inhibit weed growth. Height and Spread: 1m
