Description
Cucubalus baccifer
This is an intriguing and beautiful curiosity from the hills of Japan. Creeping, straggling stems are covered with small pointed leaves and frilly greenish-white flowers, which in turn become blackcurrant-like berries. This is a most unusual member of the dianthus family.
Sow finely and evenly, covering thinly with compost or grit. Germinate in gentle heat or in a warm bright spot outside. Grow-on individual seedlings in 3 inch pots before planting out.
