Description
Festuca glauca Intense Blue is a gorgeous, mound-forming shrub that produces wiry foliage. The leaves possess a steel blue colour that stands out easily, before the plant gains blue-green flowerspikes in the Summer months. These rise from the base of the plant and will turn to golden-yellow straw as it ages. This plant is perfect for placing in borders, pots, patios or displays, largely because of its many striking features.
Commonly known as Blue Fescue, the plants compact, mounding habit will add great texture and structure to your garden. It is also very low maintenance, meaning you will only need to water it every so often. After it has established itself, it becomes relatively tolerant to periods of drought. The plant will thrive in sunny spots of the garden and should be planted in moist, well-drained soil to allow it to progress well.
