Description
Fuchsia ‘Lady in Black’ is a deciduous, vigorous, half-hardy, shrub with ovate, toothed, dark green leaves. It is the very first black, double-flowered climbing fuchsia variety and it produces masses of delightful, pendant, bell-like, large flowers with upright, dark reddish-pink sepals and double, purple-black corollas. This spectacular, fast-growing Fuchsia can climb up to 2 metres in a season and can be trained up a frame or trellis. It also looks stunning grown in beds, borders and containers to add height and interest to your garden.
Plant in fertile, moist, well-drained soil and in full sun or partial shade. Water regularly and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each month during the growing season. Pinch out the growing tips of young plants after the sixth or seventh pair of leaves to encourage continuous back to permanent framework in early spring or cut to the base in late autumn in frost-prone areas.
