Herb Sorrel Citrus Volare Rumex Patienta

Sorrel Citrus is a hardy perennial herb which can be harvested for years after its initially been sown. The leaves are high in vitamin C and are best picked as baby leaves due to them having a slight crunch and citrus flavour. This variety is also known as Sorrel Volare and has a milder flavour than sorrel lemon.

Sow seeds March to July, under cover if prior to the last frost.

Sow seeds thinly, 12mm (½in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart.

Thin seedlings if necessary, when large enough to handle, to 12cm (8in) apart.

Keep ground weed free and young plants moist.

Young leaves can be harvested 8 weeks from sowing.

Harvest regularly from early summer to frosts and keep well trimmed to encourage young tender growth.
