Description
Start the seeds indoors January-December.
Sow the seeds thinly on the surface of moist, seed compost.
Dont cover as light is needed for germination.
Place in a heated propagator between 18-27c.
Seeds will usually germinate within 14-60 days.
If germination doesnt occur, cold stratify for 4-6 weeks before returning to warmth.
Once seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots.
Grow on in bright light, keeping the compost just moist.
Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions before planting out.
Plant out after the risk of frost has passed into their final flowering position.
Space plants about 30cm apart.
Water regularly during dry spells until established, but avoid waterlogging.
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming.
