Boost the structure of your garden with these hardy and resilient Hornbeam hedges. Spring brings fresh green leaves with crinkled veins and ribbed edges, which turn golden yellow in autumn, regularly holding firm even when winter rolls around.
Green catkins grow towards the end of spring, before becoming winged fruits in autumn to feed small garden mammals and birds. Hornbeam can be grown in most soil types, while shaded and windy spots can also be tolerated. Hornbeam hedges grow at a rate of 20-40cm per year.
Dont forget to use one of our handy bamboo cane and spiral guard sets when planting a bare root hedge. The cane will keep the bare root upright as it grows, while the spiral guard will protect the base of the plant from wildlife to achieve as thick a hedge as possible.
