When February to June.
Where In trays of seed compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with 0.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Place in a cold frame or cool greenhouse. Seedlings appear 21-42 days.
Care When large enough transplant singly to 7.5cm pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions. Transplant 30cm apart in flowering position from summer onwards.
Flowers May to July, the following year.
For outdoor sowing
When April to June.
Where In a prepared seed bed.
How Sow thinly, in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care When large enough thin to 5cm apart. Transplant 30cm apart in flowering position from September to October.
Flowers May to July, the following year. Remove dead flower stems to encourage plants to clump up.
