An easy alternative to water cress. Full flavoured with a little ‘bite’, the larger the leaf, the hotter it gets. Delicious in salads and sandwiches. For outdoor sowing
When March to September.
Where In a prepared seed bed.
How Sow thinly in rows 23cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 7-21 days. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks. Protect late sowings with cloches.
Care When large enough thin to 5cm apart. Keep moist and weed free. Harvest April to November. Pick individual leaves as required a few from each plant, they will regrow for 3-4 cuts, or harvest whole plant. Can easily be grown and picked as baby leaf in 25cm pots.
