For indoor sowingWhen January to In trays of seed Sow thinly, cover with 1.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15°C. Seedlings appear in 14-21 Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). An ‘ageless’ favourite producing thick, medium length, tender stems. A very hardy, reliable variety of Scottish origin, first introduced back in 1834.
